No, I can not. What I can guarantee you is support and guidance through the ups and downs of a lifestyle choice that has brought health, happiness and incredible weight loss results to thousands. You need to be sure you want this, and ready to put in the work before signing up. I’m here to guide and help but the results you achieve are up to you.

What is Keto?

Keto is short for Ketogenic. The Ketogenic diet is a high-fat, moderate-protein and low-carbohydrate lifestyle that trains your body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Right now, your body likely burns the carbohydrates you consume as fuel for your daily activities. When that fuel is gone, you are hungry and need to refuel. Think of carbohydrates as gasoline. Gas will ignite quickly, and keep a fire burning for a short amount of time. Think of protein as kindling. Kindling keeps a fire going longer, eventually burning out once it is gone. Fat however is like coal. Coal burns consistently, for a much longer period of time. This is the reason why when you burn fat as fuel, you are less hungry, less tired, and more clear headed than before.

keto has to be terrible for you! Fat is bad for your CLOISTRAL… right?

Actually, you might be surprised. Of course, I do recommend speaking with your doctor before beginning any health journey, and neither my services nor the information on this site should be used instead of medical services, however studies have found that the ketogenic diet can positively affect cholesterol levels. Your heart health and metabolic health can be improved in these following ways:

  • Increases LDL particle size which leads to less risk for oxidative stress

  • Improves the LDL to HDL ratio. In other words, increases HDL cholesterol, which helps to balance the effects of LDL

  • Lowers triglycerides, which is protective considering high concentrations in the blood indicate an elevated risk of stroke and heart problems

  • Improves triglyceride to HDL ratio

  • Reduces insulin resistance and helps manage blood sugar (glucose) levels, especially when compared to high-carb diets

  • Helps reduce chronic inflammation

  • Helps prevent obesity by reducing hunger and decreasing ad libitum calorie intake

How Long Will It Take

Short Answer: It took me from October 2017 to June 2018 to lose 96.6 pounds. I have lived within 5 pounds of that weight since that date.

Long Answer: I hope to break you of this question. Keto is something that I now chose to do, on a 90 / 10 scale, forever. Meaning 90% of the time, I’m still strictly Keto, even 3+ years later. I’m not trying to lose more weight, but I am trying to keep my body feeling this good, as often as possible because it truly feels good physically to live in ketosis. Do I cheat? Of course I do. Do I regret it or instantly gain all the weight back? Obviously not. Do I feel great physically when I cheat? No… physically it doesn’t feel great. One of the reasons I’m SO passionate about Keto is because my body feels amazing in Ketosis and I’m MAD it took me 32 years to know what it felt like to FEEL healthy. Keto is my new lifestyle- because now, I’m healthy, and that just feels good.

Are you a doctor or medical professional?

NO! I am a support system only. I am not a doctor. I am here to answer questions, share recipes, keep you on track when you’re struggling, help you plan when you’re stressing over being invited to the family BBQ or just need a friend you can talk to about the private ups and downs of weight loss that doesn’t actually know you. I will never get sick of talking about the same topic that is consuming your mind for the months it takes you to get to your goal, and I will never judge a word you say- because I’ve been there too- and it’s hard! But you CAN do it.

Can I have cheat days on keto?

Short answer: Not if you want the best results, quickly.

Long answer: Sure… but keep in mind, being in Ketosis is a physical change in your body. Achieving it actually takes some time. When your body switches from burning carbs to burning fat you can feel the physical change in your body- and your choosing to cheat- even one time- will reverse that progress and kick you out of Ketosis. That being said- what are you wanting to have during this cheat meal? Pizza? You can have that on Keto. Ice cream? You can have that too. Tacos? I eat them twice a week, maybe more… You’re not going to be missing anything! Now don’t get me wrong- Keto pizza is made differently than Papa Johns would make it, but you’re eating pizza, and it’s delicious. Keto Ice cream is delightful. It’s not all avocados and bacon. I promise.
